Based on the industry-leading FastPass Enterprise Credential Self-Service platform, MyPass is a secure self-service password reset solution that delivers a wide range of integration and user authentication options specifically focused on end-users.

AT A GLANCE

MyPass makes it possible for users to securely authenticate themselves and generate new passwords for practically any type of corporate system, even from a locked PC outside the corporate network. It also provides a secure interface that allows helpdesk operators to quickly assist unregistered MyPass users, without giving the operator the rights to reset a user’s password.

By directly addressing end-user productivity concerns, enabling service delivery at the corporate helpdesk and driving risk management through secure transactions, multi-factor authentication and auditing, MyPass provides real business value while driving down the costs associated with password management across a complex IT environment.

A TYPICAL USER SELF-SERVICE PASSWORD RESET IS
AS EASY AS ONE, TWO, THREE.

The user fails to authenticate to the corporate network. From any device the user is able to access the MyPass platform.

The MyPass solution verifies the user through a series of authentication controls as defined by the user’s company. This can include the location of the user, the type of access they hold within the company and the type of device they access the system from.

Once authenticated the user is guided to select a password that matches the company security policy. This password is instantly set to a multitude of systems within the company thereby granting the user quick access to the required systems.

INCREASED USER PRODUCTIVITY

MyPass delivers 24/7/365 access to secure password management without unnecessarily draining helpdesk resources. It allows users (and helpdesk operators) to reset and unlock, lost or forgotten passwords across multiple systems, while providing visual guidance in choosing a suitable password that complies with company and system-specific password policies.

MyPass provides multiple options for password reset and authentication based on user-group profiles, including:

* Personal questions and answers.

* Semi-private questions and answers.

* Customer questions and answers.

* SMS-PIN (OTP) codes.

* Helpdesk PIN codes.

* Code cards (for shared machines and public email accounts).

* Combinations for two-factor authentication.

* Password synchronisation across multiple platforms.

* Remote password reset (including Windows password cache).

INCREASED SERVICE DELIVERY

Even with self-service, users will occasionally need helpdesk assistance – when forgetting answers to authentication questions or attempting remote password reset without first registering with MyPass.

The MyPass helpdesk client allows helpdesk operators to effectively pre-authenticate the user, assist in enrolment for password self-service, and even securely reset the user’s password, all without the operator having to:

  • Access confidential information about the user;
  • Access the target systems in which the user’s password needs to be reset; or
  • At any time see the password chosen by the end-user.

INCREASED SERVICE DELIVERY

Even with self-service, users will occasionally need helpdesk assistance – when forgetting answers to authentication questions or attempting remote password reset without first registering with MyPass, for example.

The MyPass helpdesk client allows helpdesk operators to effectively pre-authenticate the user, assist in enrolment for password self-service, and even securely reset the user’s password, all without the operator having to:

• Access confidential information about the user;
• Access the target systems in which the user’s password needs to be reset; or

CREDENTIAL GOVERNANCE
AND RISK MANAGEMENT

Many organisations struggle to maintain the control, visibility and auditing of user password reset patterns across multiple systems, users and helpdesks. The complexity of the modern IT environment and the multiple silos that exist across various systems further exacerbate the difficulty in effectively managing and auditing password reset activity.

MyPass significantly improves password management governance by:

Centralising the process of password reset activity in one single control point.

Logging every action – the user’s and helpdesk operator’s – for auditing purposes.

“Your eyes only” – only the user that is resetting his/ her password sees the new password.

The helpdesk does not have access to a user password, even when they assist a user with a password reset. This leaves all password accountability with the user and removes security concerns at the helpdesk.

EFFICIENCY THROUGH SECURITY AND FLEXIBILITY

MyPass delivers fast results while improving security and productivity. The platform is flexible enough to conform and enforce existing security standards and policies within the business, and granular enough to optimise productivity levels without sacrificing security. This includes:

  • An automated and enforced end-user enrolment process.
  • Different enrolment processes for different user-groups.
  • Flexible notifications to users and administrators.
  • Adjustment of instructions and guides for different end-users groups.
  • Integration with a wide variety of target systems.
  • Management statistics for password self-service.
  • Guided password policy enforcement per system.
  • Multiple client authentication.
